C. and Ocean C. C. to clinch fifth place in the Region and earn a playoff spot this weekend. This will be the fifth straight season Bergen has qualified for the baseball region tournament. The team also recorded their highest win total ever with a record of 26-17. Bergen Versus Atlantic Cape (first game) - Derek Obergon throws a complete game allowing only one run on six hits. Centerfielder, Kevin Catherina, had a 3 for 5 day, with a double, 2 RBI and 3 runs scored. Catcher, Dave Schneidebach went 2 for 4 with 4 RBI and a run scored. Ramon Burgos, Shortstop, also added two hits. Bergen Versus Atlantic Cape (second game) - Erik Golomb throws a complete game allowing two runs on six hits and 3 strike outs. Offense was led by Ramon Burgos and Joe Grimaldi who had a pair of hits each. Bergen Versus Ocean (first game) - Dylan Rust and Joe Grimaldi pitched three innings a piece for the win. Bergen's offense was led by second baseman Mike Brito who went 4 for 5 with a double, homerun, 6 RBI, 3 runs scored and three stolen bases. Catcher Will Hernandez added by going 3-4 with 2 doubles, 3 RBI and two runs scored. Bergen versus Ocean (second game) - Robert Minaya wins his sixth game of the season by throwing a complete game versus Ocean County and clinching the fifth place in the region. Minaya allowed 3 runs on six hits and striking out four on the day. Mike Brito continued his power production by hitting his second homerun of the day. Mike went 2-4 with a double, homerun, 3 RBI and 3 runs scored. He finished the a big day at the plate with a 6 for 9 day, 2 double, 2 homeruns, 6 runs scored, 3 stolen bases and drove in 9 RBIs. Kevin Catherina also contributed going 2-4 with a double, 2 RBI and a run scored. The Bulldogs are currently waiting to see who they will face in the first round.
