Bergen Bulldog's Bats Come Alive Versus Rockland and Union!

Paramus, NJ - Bergen played at Rockland County College on Tuesday, April 24 and won by the score of 11-3.  Bergen's offense was led by Mike Brito who hit his first homerun of the season.  Mike Brito also went 3-4, 3 runs scored, 2 runs batted in at 2 stolen bases. Ramon Burgos added a 2-3 day with 3 runs scored, RBI and stolen base.  Kevin Catherina was perfect going 2-2 with a double and 2 runs batting in.

 

The following day Bergen played at Union County College and the offense put on a show.  Bergen and Union were tied up at 5 a piece in the second inning.  Third baseman Mike Rizzo with a man on base hit a tower homerun to put the Bulldogs up 7-5.  The Bulldogs never looked back and Mike Rizzo again hit a solo shot later in the game.   Mike Rizzo on the day went 3-4 with two Homeruns, 4 RBI, and 4 runs scored.   Second baseman Mike Brito continues his hot hitting going 2-4 with 3 runs scored, 2 RBI and another stolen base to add to his league lead.  Centerfield, Kevin Catherina went 3-5 with a runs scored and 2 RBI.  Shortstop, Ramon Burgos had another two hits and 3 RBI.  Jeff Abreu hit his first homerun of the season later in the game. 

 

Robert Minaya recieved the win and improves his record to 4-2. Minaya, pitched a complete game for Bergen by pitching 7 innings allowing 5 hits, 2 earned runs and 5 strikeouts.  Bergen finished the game winning 20-5.
