Women's Basketball 2012 End of Season

The Lady Bulldogs did not reach their goal of reaching the Region XIX tournament this year.  They missed it by 2 games, ending the season 11-15.  They had some shining moments during the season.  They had a very exciting overtime win against Passaic CC, one of their rivals, beating them 91-90.  They also lost to several teams the first time around, and were then able to beat them when they played them again.

Some individuals had great achievements. 

Freshman Tia Cangialosi led all scorers with 275 points.  She hit 45 three pointers while shooting 40% from the floor.  She also chipped in with 4 assists per game.

Sophomore captain Kayla Dziewa was right behind Tia with 271 points.  She hit 43 three pointers.  She also averaged 3 steals per game.

Sophomore captain Yojaira Orozco led the team in rebounds for a total of 231 (9 rebounds per game).

Freshman Felicia Castillo contributed with 9 points per game for a total of 236 points.  She shot 35% from the floor.  She also averaged 6 rebounds per game.

Freshman point guard Priscilla Quiceno chipped in 7 points per game at 37%, scoring 190 points total.  She also grabbed 5 rebounds per game and dished out 3 assists per game.

Rounding out the team were sophomore Rachel Hennig, freshman Katherine Fernandez, Freshman Brittany Meyer, and Freshman Vanessa Vargas. 

Although Bergen CC Women's Basketball is going to miss the leadership of sophomores Kayla Dziewa, Yojaira Orozco, and Rachel Hennig, we look forward to a strong showing next season with the return of a strong core group.
