BERGEN COMMUNITY COLLEGE

Bergen Community College’s Women’s Basketball Team remained at .500 after going 2-2 with wins against Passaic and Sussex to start NJCAA Division III basketball play for December.

The Lady Bulldogs bested Passaic County Community College at home on Dec. 6 in a 91-90 battle that went into overtime. Kayla Dziewa, of Garfield, scored 22 points and Tia Cangialosi, of Lodi, added 23 points with 5 assists.

Two nights later, Thurs. Dec. 8, the Bergen women had a much easier time with Sussex County Community College, beating Sussex 52-27 on their home court. Priscilla Quiceno, of Palisades Park, scored 13 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, and handed out 5 assists in the win.

Bergen dropped the next two games, failing to stop Northampton Community College in a 78-43 loss at home and falling to Middlesex County College 78-63. Felicia Castillo, of Clifton, scored 14 points and grabbed 9 rebounds against Northampton on Dec. 10.

Kayla Dziewa scored 25 points in the loss against Middlesex on Dec. 13 in a disappointing game for the Lady Bulldogs. After trailing at halftime, Bergen managed to pull ahead of Middlesex, only to lose in the final 10 minutes and end the game with a 5-5 record through Dec. 13.
