Home » 8th Grade Boys Basketball NewsA Great Week for Belzer BasketballJanuary 13, 2012 Belzer Middle School Athletics~The 8th grade Boys basketball team had an action pack week with 3 games coming off of winter break.~ The games started with a game on January 10th vs. Creston @ Belzer Middle School. The Bruins showed some rust coming off of winter break but won 44-34. The Bruins were lead by Eric Ross with 12 points and Nash Griffin with 10 points. On January 11th the Bruins went on the road to Raymond Park Middle School. The Bruins were hitting on all cylinders. Defense was the key to this win. The Bruins also played very well as a whole on the offense end. All 15 Bruin players played in this game and gave 100 percent effort. The final score was 55-12. The Bruins were lead by Mekhi Biffle with 15 points. On January 12th the Bruins finished off a long "NBA like” week when they went on the road to Southport Middle School. The Bruins were told by Coach Fox that the key to this game would be defensive intensity and taking care of the basketball. From the start of the game the Bruins came out with high intensity and didn't look back. All 15 Bruins players played and were lead by Kyle Guy with 16 points.
