May 31, 2011
By Shane Lightfoot of Bethesda Christian High SchoolThe Bethesda Christian Patriots will face the Edinburgh Lancers in an Indiana Regional 15 baseball semi-final game on Saturday, June 4th, at 1 p.m., at Shakamak High School. The early semi-final game, starting at 11 a.m., will feature Rising Sun and North Central (Farmersburg). The winners of each semi-final game will battle for the Regional crown at 8 p.m.
The Patriots captured the Sectional 59 championship by defeating Indianapolis Lutheran 11-0 on Monday afternoon. The Lancers won the Sectional 58 title by beating Morristown on Tuesday evening. The Patriots and Lancers were scheduled to play each other in their final regular season game, but weather forced the cancellation of that game, setting the stage for the Regional showdown.
