Patriots Run Well at Lou Baker Invitational
August 25, 2012By Shane Lightfoot of Bethesda Christian High School
A long drive, early morning and very warm day did not deter the Bethesda Christian Patriots cross country team as they competed in the Lou Baker Invitational meet at Carroll (Flora) High School.
Freshman Wyatt Schreiner led the boys' team by finishing 17th out of 40 runners with a time of 21:15. Senior Kale Kight finished right behind him in 18th place with a time of 21:22, which was an improvement of 21 seconds over his time on this same course a year ago. Freshman Ben Roach set a personal best with his time of 21:45, which was good for 21st place, overall. Senior Aaron Roach rounded out the Patriots' day finishing with a time of 26:55.
Freshman Hannah Joiner finished 23rd out of 30 runners with a team-leading time of 30:20 for the Lady Patriots. Sophomore Kelsey Boling finished a few runners later with a time of 44:48.
The varsity Patriots, along with the middle school squad, are back in action Tuesday as they take on Crispus Attucks and Indianapolis Washington in a triangular meet on Tuesday, August 28th.
Congratulations to all of the Patriots' runners and Coach Biddle for a great showing!
