The Golden Eagle Nine take the third game of the series with Earlham College, besting the Quakers 5-2.
Jarrod Messex FR RHP (Male H.S.) took the ball today for the Golden Eagles. In 4 2/3 innings on the hill Jarrod scattered 7 hits, walked 2, struck out 5 and allowed 2 runs. Ryan Mosby SO RHP (St. Xavier H.S.) relieved Messex throwing 1 1/3 innings allowing 2 hits and no runs. Ben Glassner SR RHP replaced Mosby in the sixth and closed out the game striking out 1 and allowing no hits in 3 innings.
Leading the offensive charge for SU were Zane Wheatley SR (DeSales H.S.), Sam White FR (DeSales H.S.) and Matt West JR (Cleveland State C.C.).
White continues to swing the hot bat going 1-2 with 2 walks. Wheatly finished the afternoon 2-4 with 2 singles and an RBI. West chipped in at the plate going 1-3 with a double.
The Eagles continue to turn up the heat on the base paths stealing 7 bases on 8 attempts.
Next up for the Golden Eagles a midweek game with Hanover College followed by a trip to Winter Haven, Florida.
