MOUNT VERNON, Ohio – The Mount Vernon Nazarene University men's golf team has signed an important recruit for the 2013-2014 season with the addition of Caleb Hunt, who has decided to further his education at MVNU and continue his golf career with the Cougars.

Hunt, a senior from Augusta, Pa., led Augusta High School to a 13-1-1 record as a senior.  He played as the No. 1 golfer on the team for five years and led the team to two tournament titles as he had two individual championships (Bellivue Invitational) and a fourth-place finish at the regional tournament.

"I am very pleased that Caleb has decided to continue his education and golf career at MVNU," said MVNU coach Mike O'Hara, who is in his tenth season with the team.  "He brings with him a great deal of tournament experience and a very solid athletic background.  He is a very good student and is very focused on having a successful collegiate golf career.  I also feel that he will have a positive influence on our program and I look forward to helping him reach his full potential as a person and player."

In addition to playing golf at Augusta, Hunt played in the Maysville Chippaways, the 7-up Tour Tournaments and the Flagg Springs Club championship.  He was also a member of the district championship basketball team, served as a regional officer for three years in FCCLA, and was active in Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

"I chose MVNU because I felt this was the place God has led me to," said Hunt of his college choice.  "I know that by going there it will increase my spiritual knowledge as well as strengthen my relationship with Christ.  MVNU is filled with many amazing people and I am very blessed to be able to play college golf and attend school there.  It's only through Him that this is possible and my praise upon success will only go to praise Him.  I am VERY excited to attend MVNU and can't wait to see what all God has in store for me there over the next four years."
