Panthers Win on Senior Night

Coach Hinson was back on the sidelines for Senior Night in Augusta as the Panthers faced the Raceland Rams from the 16th region.  Augusta jumped out early on the Rams leading 21-12 after the 1st quarter.  The Panthers let their foot off the gas as they got into the 2nd quarter and Raceland starting hitting some shots to get back into the game.  At the break Augusta led 37-33.  In the 3rd quarter the game started looking like Tuesday night's game vs. Rowan County as the scoring picked up on both ends and Augusta fortunately led 54-53 going into the 4th quarter.  This time around the Panthers would hit the free throws they needed to put this one away as they pulled away late and won, 73-67.  The win improved Augusta to 19-10.  Brent Bach led all scorers with 27 points.  Tanner Kelsch added 16.    

"We picked up another win against a good, young ball team," said Coach Hinson, "Now it's time to get ready for the district tournament on Tuesday night."
