On the weekend of the 21st and 22nd the Augusta Panthers would make their first appearance in Mason County's "Murph Classic" and along with Mason County would face 9th Region powers Cooper and Dixie Heights.  The Cooper Jaguars would be their Friday night foe.  The Jags came out hot in the 1st quarter getting scoring contributions from various players and they led after 1 quarter, 18-10.  In the 2nd quarter cut into the lead but it was still double digits at the half due to Cooper shooting 63% from the field.  The Jags led 42-29.  Augusta would turn the tables in the 3rd quarter holding Cooper to only 13 points while putting up 18 to make it 55-47 going into the final 8 minutes.  The Panthers would put up a good fight but the Jags size and rebounding would keep Augusta from getting too close as Cooper closed out the Panthers, 76-63.  The loss dropped Augusta to 7-2.  Brent Bach led all scorers with 30 points.  Tanner Kelsch added 14 points and Camryn Snapp had 10.

Scoring vs. Cooper: Bach 30, Kelsch 14, Snapp 10, Maddox 8, Conn 1

On Saturday night the Panthers would match up against the Dixie Heights Colonels.  The pace of this game would start off pretty slow, just the way the Colonels wanted it.  Taking their time on each possession would limited the Panthers' scoring chances and Dixie led after 1 quarter, 10-7.  In the 2nd quarter it was more of the same but a few more chances were made possible by costly Augusta turnovers.  At the break the Panthers were behind, 26-18.  Just like they did the night before Augusta would make a run in the 3rd quarter.  Dixie would struggle to put the ball in the hole as well as holding on to the ball and the Panthers capitilized on numerous Colonels turnovers to tie the game at 34 apiece with 8 minutes remaining.  In the 4th quarter free throws became a key factor as Dixie hit theirs while the Panthers struggled.  Augusta would get 23 free throw attempts in the second half but only connected on 13 of those.  Dixie would hold on for a hard fought 55-51 win.  The loss was the 2nd in a row for the Panthers (7-3).  Brent Bach led all scorers with 22 points.  Tanner Kelsch chipped in with 16.

Scoring vs. Dixie Heights: Bach 22, Kelsch 16, Snapp 8,  Crawford 2, Conn 2, Freeman 1
