Atlanta Aliens Players Attend NBA Developmental League (NBADL) Tryouts

The Bakersfield Jam NBADL basketball team hosted a tryouts in Atlanta, Georgia recently and according to Bakersfield Jam Head Coach Will Voigt, this was the largest turn out thus far. Bakersfield Jam is the developmental team for the Atlanta Hawks, Phoenix Suns, Toronto Raptures and the LA Clippers NBA teams. It was reported that 160 players registered to compete for a position. This was a two day camp with only the Top 20 campers selected may return for the second day of training.

Five players from the Atlanta Aliens attended the NBADL tryout camp. They were David Lawrence 6'7 200lbs SG, Rashad Faust 6'8 250lbs PF, Joshua Jones 6'9 260lbs PF/C, Sherard Reddick 6'9 235lbs PF and Alonso Davis 6'8 220lbs Wing. A sixth person (Marquis Gilstrap who was once drafted into the NBADL) did not attend. However, four out of five Atlanta Aliens were selected as the Top 20 Finalist and were invited back to attend the second day of camp. The players admitted the second day was more intensed as Head Coach Will Voigt provided different drills for them to execute. All four players managed to complete all drills and personally spoke with Coach Voigt for their individual evaluation. Atlanta Aliens GM/Head Coach Duck Richards also met Coach Voigt and the entire staff. Bakersfield Jam will conduct one last tryouts in Bakersfield, California. Afterwards, all top 20 finalist will be notified if they were selected by the end of October.
