The Rams loaded the bases in the second inning after a Brittany White single, Rebecca Aplin walk and Maygan Baldwin bunt single. Carla Cave singled to bring home White for what would be the game-clinching run. Courtney Groce earned the win for Starmount. She struck out 10 and limited the Huskies to just three hits. Kendra Yearick gave up 7 hits to the second-place Rams. Starmount improve to 13-2 overall, 6-1 in the Mountain Valley 2A Conference. Ashe dropped to 1-9, 0-8. The Huskies host West Wilkes on Thursday and North Wilkes on Friday night.
