Lady Huskies Win Tournament

The Lady Huskies were 1 of 8 girls basketball teams invited to the High Point Holiday Classic tournament. The tournament started on Friday, December 26 went through Monday, December 29. The Huskies first round game was against High Point Wesleyan. Ashe won 50-28 to advanced to the semi-finals on Saturday afternoon. The team slipped past High Point Andrews 40-38 to advance to the championship game on Monday night.

Ashe County and the High Point Central Lady Bison in the tournament finals. This would be the second meeting between the two teams.  Ashe won 52-37 over High Point Central on November 29 at the Piedmont Challenge. The Lady Bison entered the game with a 10-1 record and Ashe with an 8-1 record.

The Huskies had a great second half effort to win the game and the tournament championship 65-60! The Lady Huskies improve to 9-1 overall. Mallary Clay was selected as the tournament's Most Valuable Player.
