Home » Football NewsHampton To Be Named Head Football CoachApril 3, 2012 By ACHS iHigh of Ashe County HuskiesHampton to be named football head coach by Nathan Ham, Sports Writer A former Beaver Creek High School graduate is set to return home to coach the Ashe County Husky football team. The school board met on Monday, April 2 to approve the hiring of head coach Brian Hampton. Hampton has spent the past three seasons at North Surry High School, coaching the Greyhounds to a 16-18 overall record, including 7-4 and 8-4 records the past two seasons. Hampton's 2010 team was the first North Surry squad to finish above the .500 mark overall since 2006. He will be officially announced as the head coach at a press conference on Tuesday, April 3 at 1 p.m.
