Kayla Richardson Named to SoCon All-Tournament Team

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Kayla Richardson allowed just one unearned run in 17.1 innings at the Southern Conference tournament earning all-tournament team accolades, the conference announced Saturday.

A senior from West Jefferson, N.C., Richardson allowed just 10 hits in three appearances, two starts, and did not allow an earned run while striking out 12.  She scattered five hits in a complete game shutout in ASU's 2-0 win over UNC Greensboro and followed that up with 4.1 innings of shutout relief against Samford.  In her final collegiate start, Richardson allowed just four hits and one unearned run in a 1-0 loss to Georgia Southern.

For the season, Richardson broke Appalachian single-season records for wins, 14, strikeouts, 155, complete games, 23, and innings pitched with 204.1 while setting career marks in wins with 34 and strikeouts with 349.
