WFGirls Really Are A CWC Championship Contender

May 6, 2009
By wfrunning Behnke of Weyauwega-Fremont High School

At the first ever CWC Large School Pre-Conference Meet, the Lady Indians from Weyauwega-Fremont, and the two time defending CWC Champs from Wittenberg-Birnamwood, showed that neither one is about to be taken lightly at the May 16th conference meet that will be hosted by the Witt-Birnamwood Chargers.

The boys team, though, has a long way to go to be contenders to defend their 2008 CWC crown. Iola-Scandinavia, Manawa, and Bonduel seem to be poised and ready to wage a three-way Battle Royal for the 2009 crown.

The boys team was paced by a pair of third place finishes on their way to seventh in the pre-conference meet. Chris Chase set another PR in the shot put and Taylor Looker leaped to third in the long jump. After that it was the relay teams that did most of the scoring as WF placed well in every one of the four relays.

Here are the places won and final team scores for the boys
