At Polson, the Pirates forged a two-way tie for the Northwestern A lead with the win over the Wildcats.
With Whitefish's win over Libby, both the Pirates and the Bulldogs stand at 3-0 in league. That tie will be broken next Friday when Whitefish visits Polson (5-2 overall).
The Wildcats struck first on an 87-yard TD romp by Stephen Baumgartner. The Pirates knotted the game at 7-7 on a 30-yard interception return by Ryan Kelley.
Polson, which overcame four first-half turnovers, took the lead for good on a 2-yard run by Craig Bagnell in the second quarter. Kelley added a 7-yard TD reception from Bagnell to salt the game away in the fourth quarter.
Tim Rausch rushed 18 times for 119 yards for the Pirates. Bagnell was 7-for-16 for 81 yards with one interception. Kelley had five catches for 41 yards.
Baumgartner led Columbia Falls with 12 rushes for 129 yards. QB Mitchell Wassam was 1-for-12 for 7 yards.
Columbia Falls fell to 2-1, 3-3.
