Eagles down Bulldogs on Senior Night

November 7, 2009
By Calvin Walters of Eastern Alamance High School

Eastern Alamance used a balanced offensive attack to overcome a determined Bulldog team on the way to a 46-31 victory.

Lamar Ivey threw for two touchdowns, ran for two, and caught another to lead the Eagles offensive attack.  Elliot Powell ran for 156 yards, including a 74 yard touchdown run to put the Eagles up for good in the second quarter.

Backup quarterback Will Walker threw for two touchdowns, a 13 yard pass in the corner of the endzone to Kyle Miles, and a 32 yard strike to Ivey.

The victory moved the Eagles to 10-1 on the season and locked up 2nd place in the Mid-State 3A behind Northern Guilford.

Eastern Alamance will wait on the playoff brackets to be announced, but are guarenteed a first round home game next week.

Check this site later in the day to find out where the Eagles are seeded and what the road to the State Championship looks like for 3A this year.
