CHARLOTTE - Butler High's Aslynn Halvorson was named the Gatorade N.C. Girls' Track & Field Athlete of the Year on Wednesday. The award is based on athletic achievement, academics and character.
Halvorson, who graduated last week and has signed with Tennessee, won the shot put and discus events at the N.C. 4A meet for the second straight year.
