CLEAR CREEK INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT 2009 HIGH SCHOOL SUMMER SCHOOL GRADES 9-12 ** CLOSED TO OUT-OF-DISTRICT STUDENTS ** LOCATION: Clear Creek High School, League City, TX June 11, 2009 (Teacher workday – No students) DATES: 1st Session: June 15 – July 2, 2009 – 7:30 am – 1:30 pm daily (M-Th) July 3 (Teacher workday – No students) 2nd Session: July 6–23, 2009 – 7:30 am – 1:30 pm daily (M-Th) PREREGISTRATION: Entire month of April, 2009 at all high schools and intermediate schools. See counselor for registration cards and course approval. REGISTRATION: Sat., May 30, 2009 – 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. – Clear Creek High School Sat., June 13, 2009 – 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. – Clear Creek High School NO LATE REGISTRATION PROCEDURE: Complete a registration card for EACH summer school session. BRING YOUR SECOND SEMESTER REPORT CARD AND STUDENT ID NUMBER. COST: $150 each session for students residing in the Clear Creek ISD. (Students who reside in the district but have not attended a Clear Creek ISD school during the spring semester of 2009, must bring proof of residency). CASHIER’S CHECK OR MONEY ORDER ONLY!! NO CASH, NO PERSONAL CHECKS. REFUNDS MUST BE REQUESTED IN WRITING BY THE 2ND DAY OF THE SESSION (check with summer school principal for detailed instructions). NO REFUNDS IF STUDENT IS DISMISSED FOR DISCIPLINARY OR ATTENDANCE REASONS. REGULATIONS: All regulations in effect during the main term are also in effect during summer school. Because of the strict State clock hour requirements, promptness is essential. The student cannot receive credit if the student is absent more than one day per session. COURSES OFFERED FOR NEW AND RECOVERY CREDIT: The following courses will be offered, based on student demand. The fall semester of the course is offered during the first session of Summer School and the spring semester of the course is offered during the second session of Summer School. Recovery or repeat-work courses are for students who were not successful during the first attempt at a course. I & Geom, but before Alg. History B Economics Geometry B These classes are offered in a computer lab setting and involve both on-line and off-line work which includes a semester exam. The cost is $150.00 for each class. A class is 21/2 hours in length. Students are encouraged to register early for these classes as they will fill quickly. NOTE: A student may register for one course per session. Any credit earned in Summer School does not apply toward the grade point average. ON-LINE COURSES – e4 ACADEMY (Virtual High School) NEW CREDIT ONLY Begins June 15, 2009 – Face-to-Face Kickoff at Technology Learning Center, 330 S. Iowa St., League City, TX 77573 – Times to be assigned 2:30-5:30 p.m. STUDENTS ENROLLING IN E-4 MUST ATTEND FACE-TO-FACE and FINAL EXAM Cost: $150.00 per course – Final Exam proctored at Technology Learning Center on July 23, 2009 – Times to be assigned 2:30 – 7:30 p.m. Economics – 12th English IV A – 12 Astronomy – 11-12 Government – 12th English IV B – 12 Health – 9-12 World Geography A – 9-12 BCIS-A – 9-12 NOTE: Must take BCIS-B on-line NOTE: A student may register for no more than two on-line courses during the summer.
