Robbinsdale Armstrong Basketball

Results:We bounced back from a double overtime loss to Shakopee on Jan. 11 to win 3 games, defeating Blaine, Andover and Minneapolis South to move our record to 13-2, 9-1 in the NWSC.

Team stats: We had 6 guys in double figures in points scored vs. Blaine (Evan Nolan led with 21- Jerome Dixon has 5 assists and 14 points and Sean Burns had 13 points, 3 assists and 10 rebounds.   Our teams was 9 for 19 from 3 in that game.

We continued our hot shooting in the Andover game, going 11 for 23 from 3 pt. land.  Evan Nolan and Jerome Dixon were our leading scorers with 15.  Sean burns had 14 rebounds and 13 points in the Andover game.

In the Minneapolis South game. we got off to a hot start and were ahead 51-21 at half.  Our passing was at a high level and our 1-2-2 trapping defense gave South problems.

Individual stats: Team leaders as of Jan. 18

FG %: Melvin Newbern 46-77 60 %, 3 pt. %  Jerome Dixon 31 - 68 (0.46), Tre Tate 16 - 38 (0.42), Jubie Alade 9 - 21 (0.43).
FT %- Ryan Casperson 44-53 83%,  Evan Nolan 41-52 79%,  Rebounds Ryan Casperson 7.6 RPG, Sean Burns 7.4 RPG, Evan Nolan 5.2 RPG, Steals- Melvin Newbern has 30 and Jerome Dixon 25.  Sean Burns has 14 blocked shots.
Big plays/Big performances:

Overall thoughts:Our team averages 18 assists per game and we are difficult to defend because we have balanced scoring with 5 players averaging double figures in scoring.  We have good depth with 9 guys getting playing time each game.  We are athletic and force an average of 17 turnovers per game. We are currently ranked 7 AAAA.
Current record and conference standing: 13-2, 9-1.

Thoughts on next opponent: We play Park Center on Tuesday, which will be a challenging game on the road.  Hopefully that sets up a game for first place with Champlin at home on Friday Jan. 24.
