Lamar Vikings (2-2, 1-0) at Arlington Colts (3-1, 0-1) 

THE SERIES: The Vikings lead the series, 22-18-1, although Arlington High has won three of the last four. The teams have split the 14 games at Maverick Stadium, although Lamar hasn’t beaten the Colts there since 2006.

LAST WEEK: Lamar brushed aside North Crowley, 41-7, while Arlington High fell from the ranks of the unbeaten with a 38-28 loss to Martin.

OFF THE SCHNEID: Arlington High hasn’t been 0-2 in district play since 2007.

Fort Worth Paschal Panthers (2-2, 0-1) at Bowie Volunteers (3-1, 1-0)

THE SERIES: Bowie leads the series, 4-2, including the only previous meeting at Wilemon Field. 

LAST WEEK: Bowie routed Weatherford, 55-3, the fourth-biggest margin of victory in school history, while the Panthers were blanked by Sam Houston, 35-0.

TOOTHLESS CATS: Paschal has now lost 16 consecutive district games, dating back three years. The Panthers beat North Crowley, 40-21, on Oct. 22, 2009.

North Crowley Panthers (0-4, 0-1) at Sam Houston Texans (2-2, 1-0)  

THE SERIES: The series is tied at 1-1, with each team winning on their own home field.

LAST WEEK: Sam Houston shut out Fort Worth Paschal, 35-0, earning the Texans their first shut out in nine years. Sam Houston also blanked Paschal, 62-0, on Oct. 17, 2003. North Crowley was mauled by Lamar, 41-7.

LAST YEAR: The Texans haven’t forgotten last year’s game, when the Panthers poured 29 fourth quarter points on the scoreboard in a 75-28 victory. The 75 points were the most ever allowed by Sam Houston, and the second-most in AISD history.

A LONG 20 YEARS: Sam Houston has not been 2-0 in district play since 1992.

Weatherford Kangaroos (1-3, 0-1) at Martin Warriors (2-2, 1-0)

THE SERIES: The Warriors lead the series, 7-1, and have won both meetings at Cravens Field. Weatherford has never won a game at Cravens Field. 

LAST WEEK: Martin overcame six turnovers and stopped Arlington, 38-28, while the Kangaroos were hammered by Bowie, 55-3.

THE SERIES: Summit leads the Catfight Series, 2-0. This will be the first meeting at R.L. Anderson Stadium.

LAST WEEK: was not a good week for these two defenses. Seguin battled
Ennis well, but came up on the short end of a 55-35 score. Summit, which is 0-4 for the first time in school history, got into a scoring duel with Waxahachie, but lost, 64-57.

BAD NEWS: One of these teams will be going the wrong direction on Friday night. Seguin hasn’t been 0-2 in district play since 2007, while Summit hasn’t experienced that fate since 2008.
