Individuals Excel at Henderson Invitational

The track team had another big showing this weekend at the Henderson County Invitational.
On the boys side the Eagles were led by Tristan Durbin who brought home two victories in the mile and the half mile, setting personal bests in both events.
Ryan Duvall was named outstanding male athlete of the meet winning the 110 meter hurdles in a NEW SCHOOL RECORD time of 15.34.
Dondre Mimms and Tristan Patterson also picked up wins in the 100 meter dash and the 300 meter hurdles.
The final victory of the night on the boys side came from the 4x100 meter relay team of Dondre Mimms, Bryson Morris, Ryan Duvall, and Tristan Patterson.
Other top three finishes on the boys side were…
Seth Boone – 2nd in the 1 mile run
Hunter Collins – 2nd in the discus
Ryan Duvall – 3rd in the shot put
The girls team was once again led by Leslie Burns and Shelby Lewis.
Leslie Burns tried her hand at the 400 meter dash for only the second time this season and brought home a victory in the process.
Shelby Lewis once again showed the competition how the pole vault is meant to be done. Lewis equaled the school record winning the vault with a 10 foot jump.
Many other Apollo girls set personal bests on the day.
