Apollo Sets Two Meet Records At IN/KY Challenge

The boys and girls track program traveled to Evansville Harrison High School on Saturday, April 19 to participate in the Kentucky-Indiana Challenge. By the end of the meet the Eagles had won several events, set two meet records, broke one school recorded, and were awarded the male performance of the meet.
Dondre Mimms once again led the charge for the boys team. Dondre set personal bests in the 100 meters, 200 meters, and the 400 meters. In setting those personal bests Dondre won the 100 and 200 meters, and broke the meet record in the 200 meters. Dondre’s 200 meters was named male performance of the meet.
Dondre, teamed up with Bryson Morris, Josh Brumleve, and Brandon Blythe to come in second in the 4x200 meter relay.
Several other gentlemen set personal bests on the day:
* Bryson Morris in the 400 meter dash
* Tristan Patterson in the 300 meter hurdles
* Sean Yeckering in the discus.
The girls were led by Shelby Lewis’ new meet and school record in the pole vault. Shelby vault of 10 feet broke her own previous best by 6 inches.
Other ladies setting personal bests on the day were:
* Mary Beth Peach in the 100 meters
* Makenzie Jackson in the 400 meters.
