E-Gal Volleyball Wins Two Tournaments

The E-Gal freshmen and varsity volleyball teams had a successful Labor Day Saturday coming away as champions in their respective tournaments.
The freshmen E-Gals traveled to Henderson County to play in their freshmen invitational. In pool play, the E-Gals defeated Henderson 2-1, McLean County 2-0 and McCracken County 2-0. In tournament play, the E-Gals again defeated McCracken County 2-0 and then defeated the host Lady Colonels in the championship game 2-0.
The varsity E-gals traveled to Louisville and competed in the Iroquois First Spike Invitational tournmanent, a tournament where the E-Gals were the 2012 defending tournament champions. True to form - the E-Gals successfully defended their crown!
The team beat Louisville Ballard 26-27, 25-9, 15-7; Taylor County 25-9, 25-7, Louisville Moore 25-16, 25-9, Jeffersontown 25-10, 25-21, and Anderson County 25-16, 25-16, to win the tournament. Alex Satterfield had 71 assists and 32 service points, Ryanne Purcell had 48 kills and 42 digs, Margaret O’Bryan had 28 kills, Kristina Canary had 19 kills and nine blocks, Nicole Carmon had 18 kills and 8 blocks, Jordan Coomes had 45 assists, Keelie Willis had 39 digs, Maddie Garrison had 23 digs, Shelby Radford had 19 digs, and Alanna Holland had 7 kills.
The E-gals improve their record to 10-3.
