Freshman Volleyball wins Stillman Valley Tournament

The Amboy Lady Clippers freshmen team won the Stillman Valley Tournament on Saturday with a 5-0 overall record to improve to 18-4 on the season.
They opened up pool play with a 20-7, 20-10 win over Rochelle followed by a 20-15, 20-17 win over Oregon. After a long break before playing again, Amboy defeated Dakota 20-9, 20-6 and then Byron 20-10, 20-12 to advance to the championship.
In the championship, the Lady Clippers faced Three Rivers Conference foe Fulton and won 25-18, 15-25, 25-23.
"We played very strong in our pool play and then had to face an improved Fulton team," said Coach Holli Rapp. "It was a great team effort and everyone contributed in one way or another."
