Three Houston area districts brought their best players to compete for the chance to qualify for the Texas State High School Bowling Tournament that will be held in San Antonio on March 27 and 28. The Regional Singles Competition format consisted of each bowler completing 5 games and adding up their game totals. The top 8 boys and 7 girls would earn an invitation to the 2009-2010 Singles division of Texas High School State Bowling Tournament. Alvin High School was being represented by Shelbie New, Robert Amrhein, and Tyler Wetmore. Each had qualified for the Regional Tournament during their district play this season by maintaining their high bowling averages. They bowled their best and qualified to be a part of the 2009-2010 Singles division of Texas High School State Bowling tournament.
