McKoy's diversity stands out

February 9, 2011
By Horace Neysmith of All Metro Sports

South Atlanta's Dominique McKoy has the most diverse game in Georgia. The 6-foot-7 wing has shown that diversity this season while averaging 18 points, seven rebounds and five assist. As a youngster most teams had McKoy playing the post but you could see his perimeter skills evolving at a young age. At times for the 22-1 Hornets, McKoy even plays the point.

His main goal this season is to win a state championship and with only one stain on its record, South Atlanta is on track to play for the title. With the likes of Nick Jacobs and Rashaud Bell the personnel is there but standing in its way is GAC. The Spartans are the only team to beat the Hornets this season. Although Buford will have something to say about it, look for them to match-up again for the Regional title.

McKoy has spent alot of time working on his jumper to the point he's a real threat behind the arc. His midrange game was always part of his arsenal but with the added range he creates driving options when defenses step out. He is a solid ballhandler who can create for himself and others. His ability to rebound ignites the South Atlanta fast break without the need to make the guard outlet.

College coaches are taking notice of McKoy....he has Oregon State, LaSalle and Murray State at the top of his list but others are trying to jump in.
