Ashley Click

October 30, 2011
By Paris Chrisman of Alcoa High School

Ashley Click is a Junior at Alcoa High School. She has participated in AHS Athletics since her freshman year. Check out her player profile:

Alcoa High School: What sport do you play?

Ashley Click: Track

AHS: What made you choose this sport?

AC: It looks fun and interesting. It's not only the fact that you are compeating with others, you are competing with yourself.

AHS: That's cool. What do you do in track?

AC: I run middle/long distance.

AHS: To those who don't know what "middle/long distance" means, can you explain that?

AC: Middle distance is when you run an 800 meter (two laps around the track). Another thing is the 4x800 and that is where you have a team of 4 people from your team. Each of the 4 people run a 1600 meter distance (four laps, also known as a mile on a track course). There is also the 3200 meter distance (eight laps, known as two miles).

AHS: Wow! That is a lot of exercise. What distance do you excel at?

AC: I do best at the 1600 meter distance and the 3200 meter distance.

Here are the fun, random questions that we asked Ashley.

AHS: Favorite restaurant?

AC: Chedders!

AHS: I feel like that is everyone's favorite place. Great food and price range. What is your favorite athlete role model?

AC: Wilma Rudolph

AHS: Great woman! She is a great inspiration to follow. Last question. If you had to chose between Green Lantern or Batman, who would it be?

AC: Batman!

Thanks for sharing Ashley! We wish you good luck on your track season in the spring!
