Ashland Mat Cat Wrestlers Qualify For State Meet

Mats Cats Win At Regionals!!!!!
Eight Ashland Tomcat Wrestlers Won at the Wrestling Regional Tournament and qualified for the KHSAA State Wrestling Tournament that begins Thursday February 19th at the Civic Center in Frankfort, Kentucky.
1. Senior Kristian Rigsby finished in third place in the 140 pound weight class with a 3-1 regional record and will advance to wrestle at the state meet.
2. Senior Evan Holbrook finished in 4th place in the 189 pound weight class with a 2-2 regional record and will advance to state.
3. Sophomore Trent Hardy finished in 3rd place in the 215 pound weight class with a 3 - 1 regional record and will advance to the state meet.
4. Sophomore Cody Nunley finished in 5th place in the 125 pound weight class with a 2-2 regional record and will go to state as an alternate.
5. Sophomore David Krueger finished in 5th place in the 275 pound weight class with a 2-2 regional record and will advance to state as an alternate.
6. Freshman Chris Blair finished in 4th place in the 145 pound weight class with a 2-2 regional record and will advance to the state meet.
7. Eighth Grader Aaron Scarberry finished in 4th place in the 130 pound weight class with a 3-2 regional record and will advance to the state meet. 8. Eighth Grader Dakota Sloss finished in 6th place with a 1-3 regional record and could advance to state as a second alternate.
