Tomcat Tennis Wins Region Championship; 10 Peat!!!

The Ashland Tomcat boys tennis team won it's 10th consecutive boys region tennis championship by winning matches in Thursdays region semi-final round. The Ashland doubles team of Greg Geremia and Trevar Sizemore defeated Russell's Miles Mussetter and Paul Spradlin 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 in the doubles semi-final round. Then on the next court Ashland's Stephen Metcalf knocked off Russell's Taylor Nguyen 7-6, 7-6 in a tough battle to secure the Tomcats 10th region championship.
The Tomcats will now play matches in the region championship on Saturday at 10:00 at the Ashland tennis center. Geremia and Sizemore will play Russell's Alex and Austin Christi in the region doubles final, while Metcalf will play Rose Hill's David Bush in the region singles championship match.
Congratulations Ashland Boys Tennis and coach Eddie Sizemore. On to State next week!!!!!!!
