Junior Class
The junior class will be meeting after school Wednesday September 5th in the cafeteria. We will be electing officers and discussing Prom plans and fund raising
Seniors
Sign up to meet with college representatives now with the counselors! reps from Alderson-Broaddus, Shawnee, Morehead, Transylvania and EKU will be here September 20th, 27th October 4th, 22nd and 30th respectively.
The Spanish Honor Society
The Spanish Honor Society T-Shirt order will be placed after school today. Any member who has not ordered a t-shirt and wants one should see Mrs. LeMaster today.
On Monday September 10, there will be a meeting in room 206 at 6:30pm with students and their parents who are interested in a trip to Madrid, Paris and Rome. Any interested students can stop by room 206 for information.
Spanish Club Meeting
Spanish Club will meet Thursday September 7th at 7:50am in room 603 Mrs. Burgess. We will be electing officers.
Latin Club Meeting
The first meeting of the Latin Club will be on Tuesday September 4th 2012 at 7:45am in room 209. Please be on time because we have some important matters to discuss! Dues of the Latin Club will be $5.00

Meeting Thursday September 6. at 7:45am in Mr. Hale's room 320.
Creative Writing
Creative Writing will meet for the first time this year in Ms. Scalf room 302 after school Tuesday September 4. New members are welcome.
Science Club
Science Club will have it's first brief meeting after school on Thursday September 7th.

HOMECOMING DANCE GUEST REQUEST FORMS:
Forms are available in the front office and are due back by the end of the day, Thursday, September 20th. All dates must be in at least the 9th grade and no older than age 20 to attend. Guests who attend another high school must have the form signed by their principal. Guests who are not in high school must have a photocopy of their ID attached to the guest request form. Homecoming Dance is Saturday, September 29th from 8:00 - 11:00 p.m.
HOMECOMING DANCE GUIDELINES:
All tickets must be purchased in advance during lunches the week of the dance
Dress is semi-formal (No Jeans)
All school rules apply at dances
Doors open at 8:00 and the dance ends at 11:00
Class Officers
Any Students wishing to be a class officer can pick up a petition from Mrs. Barnett in room 610 or from Mrs. Speaks in the finance office located in building 1. The petitions are due Friday August 31.
Student Council (Freshman)
Any freshman wishing to be a student council representative can pick up an application from Mrs. Barnett in room 610 or from Mrs. Speaks in the finance office in building 1. These are due by Friday August 31.
Key Club
The first key club meeting for the 2012-2013 school year will be held Thursday September 6th at 7:50am on the near side of the cafeteria.
Key Club
Potential key club members can sign up to volunteer at the Poage's Landing 5K Saturday. September 15th at 6:30am. The sign up sheet is located on the bulletin board outside the counselors office.
FCA Officers
FCA Officers will be meeting this Friday August 31st in Mrs. Walter room 208 at 7:45am.
Breast Cancer Awareness Game vs Rowan Co.
FCCLA is selling touchdown for a cure T-Shirts for $10.00 from 8/27/2012 until 9/7/2012. Proceeds go to the American Cancer Society. They will be on sale at lunch and in Mrs. Kirks room 301 until September 7th. Wear these shirts to the game.
Parking Lot
Every Monday and Tuesday all vehicles must be moved to the edge of the parking lot by 3:45pm for band practice. If you stay after school this should be your first priority.
Beta Club Members:
You are reminded that you must complete 15 hours of service each year. Check Room 211 daily for service opportunities.
