A recent article in the Sun Herald, written by James Jones, reported that Gulfport wide receiver Richaud Floyd has verbally committed to play at Missouri.

"I've known for about a month that I wanted to go to Missouri," Floyd said. "Because I want the chance to play in the best conference in the Country."
The 5-foot-11 Floyd chose Missouri over Cincinnati because of his closeness to the Tigers' facility and coaches. His other Division I scholarship offers came from Southern Miss and Memphis.
"It's a little big closer to home and the Coach that recruited me really made me feel like I belonged to the program," Floyd said.
Floyd is an honor student who has already qualified academically to play as a college freshman for the 2015-16 school year. He has a 3.7 GPA and scored 22 on the ACT.
The 6-foot Floyd caught 82 passes for 1,000 yards and scored 13 touchdowns as a junior last year, earning Sun Herald All-South Mississippi honors He will play quarterback for the Admirals this season.
Floyd is the sixth Coast player to verbally commit to a D-I school. Gulfport cornerback J.J. Smith and wide receiver Jonathan Nance are headed to Ole Miss and Southern Miss, respectively.
