SWIMMING AND DIVING
The Jags traveled to Holly Springs
May 6, 2011Athens Drive High School
The Jags traveled to Holly Springs on Thursday night with hopes of handing the Golden Hawks another loss. Athens came out with bats smoking against Holly Springs ace Carlos Rodon. Blake Seaton led off the top of the first with a single. Chris Williams followed with a double down the left field line. Seaton was called out at the plate in a REALLY close play attempting to score all the way from first. Patrick Mason doubled to score Williams. Snotherly singled to score Mason and the Jags jumped out to a 2-0 lead after the top of the 1st. Unfortunately that would be all the runs that they would record for the game, as Rodon settled down and gave up only 2 more hits, and 4 walks.
Ben Snotherly took the mound for the Jags and pitched an incredible game, despite injuring his thumb earlier in the week. He gave up 4 unearned runs in 5 innings of work. He struck out 6, gave up 6 hits and walked 3. Blake Seaton came in to pitch the 6th and gave up one hit, which was erased by a double play. The Jags last inning comeback was not to be tonight as they fell 4-2 to the Hawks.
Offensively for the Jags: Blake Seaton - 2-3, 2B, BB. Chris Williams - 1-4, 2B, 1R. Patrick Mason - 1-3, 2B, BB, 1R. Ben Snotherly 1-3. Patrick Graham - 1-3. Eric Berger - BB. Justin Reynolds - BB.
The Jags finished in second place in the conference and will host their first playoff game on Friday, May 13th at 4pm. Please come out and support the team.
