Home » Baseball NewsJags play FuquayMay 3, 2011 Athens Drive High SchoolThe Jags travelled to Fuquay on Friday night (4/29) for a Tri-9 conference w/ the Bengals. Athens jumped out to an early lead scoring 4 runs on 2-doubles & 2-singles in the top of the 1st inning. The Jags added 2 more in the top of the 2nd knocking the Fuquay starting pitcher out of the game. However, that was all the scoring the Jags managed as they fell 9-6 to the Bengals. Fuquay had chipped away at the lead scoring 1 run in each of their first 3 innings. They broke the game open in the 4th scoring 5 runs on 3 hits. Ben Snotherly started on the mound for the Jags pitching 3.33 innings giving up 6 earned runs on 5 hits, while striking out 3. Blake Seaton came in to pitch in relief to finish the game giving up 1 earned run on 2 hits w/ 1 stike-out. The Jag hitters included: Blake Seaton 2-4 (2RBI, 1R), Patrick Mason 1-3 (1R), Ben Snotherly (BB, 1R), Patrick Graham 1-2 (2B, 2RBI, BB), Eric Berger 1-2 (2RBI, BB), Matt Proctor 1-3 (1R), & Andrew Mitchell 1-3 (2B, 1R). The Jags play Mon afternoon (5/2) the resumption of the Lee Co game which was postponed earlier in the season.
