The Pioneers defeated Cumberland 68-50. After a slow start AACC grabbed an early lead and would only lose that lead once in the game. The lead change came mid-way through the second half but the Pioneers answered and didn’t look back. Nina Herron had a break out game scoring 24 points with 9 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals. Courtney Jones scored 13 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. Jasmine Marshall who leads the MD JUCO in rebounds/game brought down 17 boards while scoring 11 and stealing 3. Lindsey Atkinson scored 8 pts with 3 steals and Olivia Tubaya scored 6 pts and led AACC with 9 assists. Already in this young season the Pioneers are spread throughout the MD JUCO leader board. Herron is 4th in assists (6.3/game), 8th in scoring (15.6 pts/game), and 9th in steals (3.667/game). Jasmine Marshall leads MD JUCO rebounders (14.6/game), is 10th in points per game (13.3) and is 10th in free throw percentage (86.6%). Atkinson is 8th in free throw percentage at 88%. Courtney Jones lands at 8th for rebounding with 8.6/ game. Olivia Tubaya is 9th for assists averaging 4.667/game. Women’s Basketball plays again this weekend on the road at Westmoreland County Community College.
