The lone freshman on the first team for the Pioneers is Meghenn Jackson. Jackson burst onto the scene with 108 total points (3rd MD JUCO) including 87 goals (2nd) and 21 assists (9th).

Entering the season Head Coach Jim Griffiths had a NJCAA leading coaching record of 109-23 and in 2012 he added to that success. In nine season Griffiths has compiled a 126-24 record with games remaining this season. Griffiths has been named the 2012 MD JUCO Coach of the Year.

On Thursday MD JUCO Officials announced April Student Athlete of the Month winners. Cori Karoly was honored for her outstanding defense. The MD JUCO article reads: “Karoly was the defensive leader for the top-ranked Pioneer women’s lacrosse team. The nation’s best defense held five of the six opponents played in the month to single digits, including a pair of three-goal contests. Anne Arundel heads to Monroe to compete for the NJCAA National Championships on Saturday.”

Congratulations to all of these students’ athletes and Coach Griffiths for their outstanding achievements this season.
