Home » General NewsAACC Baseball Makes it 6 in a row, 14 of last 16April 27, 2012 By Duane Herr of ANNE ARUNDEL COMMUNITY COLLEGEPut another tally in the win column for the Pioneers as AACC’s baseball team defeated Delaware Tech 13 – 5 on Thursday for their sixth win in a row. The Pioneers have won 14 of their last 16 games and now have a 36-13 overall record. With 36 wins this season the 2012 team has won more games than any other baseball team at AACC over the last decade. The April 26th game against Del Tech was notched at 0-0 through four innings before the Pioneers unloaded for six runs in the top of the fifth inning. With the bases loaded Kevin Kean drew a walk to score Eddie Speakman. Kody Hines would then unleash a three run double to score Zach Maddox, Burnell Dailey, and Kean. With Hines on third Brandon Eady blasted a double to plate the fifth run. Following a third consecutive double by Braden Goughenour, Eady scored to complete the six run inning. In the bottom of the inning Delaware Tech responded with a two run homerun to get on the board. Keeping their scoring attack going the Pioneers added five runs in the top of the sixth. Loading the bases again, AACC used timely hitting to plate two more runs off of Hines’ single. Daniel Seeba followed with a double to score Kean and Eady hit a sac fly to score Hines for the 11-2 lead. Del Tech would hit another two run homerun in the bottom of the sixth for their third and fourth runs of the game. Daniel Seeba blasted a two run homerun in the top of the eighth for the Pioneers to complete the scoring for AACC for the game. Del Tech added another run in the bottom of the eighth but wouldn’t score again as the Pioneers won 13-5. Anne Arundel pitched by committee using five pitchers to hold Del Tech to 5 runs off of 7 hits. Kody Hines – 2 for 4, double, 2 runs, 5 RBI Burnell Dailey – 3 for 5, 2 runs, 3 stolen bases Daniel Seeba – 2 for 4, HR, double, 3 RBI, 2 runs Braden Goughenour – 2 for 5, double, RBI Brandon Eady – 1 for 3, 2 RBI, 2 sac, run On Saturday, April 28th, the Pioneers baseball team will make the trip to Montgomery College Germantown (25-22, 12-10 MD JUCO) for a 12pm doubleheader.
