Home » General NewsAACC Baseball's Four Run Inning not enough to top CecilMarch 28, 2012 By Duane Herr of ANNE ARUNDEL COMMUNITY COLLEGEAfter posting a 5-1 record over Spring Break the Pioneer Baseball team returned to action on Tuesday March 27th traveling to Cecil College (13-10, 5-2). After two scoreless innings Cecil jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the third. The Pioneers would respond in the top half of the fourth inning scoring all four of their runs for the game. Daniel Seeba singled to start the inning and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by Kody Hines. Zach Weiss would single and both Seeba and Weiss would score on an error during Braden Goughenour’s at bat. With Goughenour on base Sam Myers blasted a homerun for two more Pioneer runs. Cecil would add another run in the sixth and then cap off their scoring with a four run seventh inning. AACC dropped the MD JUCO Conference game against the Seahawks 7-4. Burnell Dailey went 2 for 4 with a walk and two stolen bases. Kody Hines was 1 for 3 with a walk, stolen base, and sac. Brooks Miller pitched six innings giving up two earned runs with two strikeouts. Having won five of their last seven the Pioneers have compiled a 16-9 record with a 3-4 conference record. The Pioneers host their first home since March 15th this Thursday, March 29th as they take on CCBC Catonsville at 3pm. Catonsville is 16-6-1 this season with an 8-0 MD JUCO Conference record.
