Myers Advances to State Championships
May 31, 2014Princeton High School
Senior Lindsay Myers will make her final appearance as a Princeton Viking on the biggest stage for a high school athlete, the State Championships. After a disappointing performance in the Regionals in 2013, Myers has dominated the opposition in the 3200-meter run.
The College of William and Mary signee cut her Regional finals time by over 18 seconds in a single season to finish fourth at Friday's Regional Finals with a time of 11:01.83.
Lindsay is scheduled to race in the pre-lims on Saturday, June 7 at approximately 6:20 PM at the Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium on the campus of The Ohio State University.
Princeton's 4x100-meter relay (Kayla Bryant, Secoria Royal, Ariane Martin, and Marketta Beckum) fell just short of advancing in the State meet. The Lady Vikes finished in 49.52 second, just 0:0.19 behind fourth place Mason.
Freshman Marketta Beckum placed 12th overall in the girls long jump, finishing her season with a 15-07 mark.
