Witcher sets new record in District Finals

Senior Halen Witcher broke the O.H.S.A.A. Southwest District Mason 400-meter tournament record in 48.58 a to help the Vikings secure 5th place at the District Tournament on Friday, May 23 at Mason High School.
Witcher will head into Wednesday's pre-lims of the Regional Tournament with the fastest time.
Junior Kevin Rainey also put up a record performance in the 110-meter hurdles. Rainey tied the District Record of 14.54 seconds in Day 1 of the District Tournament. He would later capture the top spot in the finals heat with a time of 14.60.
Brandon Mullins and Josh Jasper finished 4th and 5th respectively in the 800-meter run, and Marcus Placke rounded out the Top 5 in the 400-meter dash. Mullins
Jordan Barber just missed the cut in the boys high jump, finished 5th overall.
Princeton's relays were very strong in the final heats. The 4x400-meter relay (Halen Witcher, Brennan Summerlin, Brandon Mullins, Marcus Placke) finished in second place, and the 4x200-meter relay (Witcher, Summerlin, Rainey, Placke) claimed third place.
Day 1 of the Regional Tournament is set to begin at 4:30pm on Wednesday, May 28 at Welcome Stadium.
