Girls Track Finishes 5th at GMC Championships

Greater Miami Conference Championship Results

Lindsay Myers won a pair of individual events at the finals of the Greater Miami Conference Championships on Friday, May 17 to help the Vikings place fifth overall with 66 points.

Myers won the 1600-meter run in 5:11.11, and the 3200-meter run in 10:59.42. 

Secoria Royal gave the Vikings 10 points with two top five finishes. Royal came in third place in the 400-meter dash (1:02), and fifth in the 100-meter dash (0:13.14).

Both Ariane Martin and Madeline Burke took fifth place in the 200-meter dash and 800-meter dash respectively. Marin finished in 0:27.67, and Burke finished in a time of 2:27.98.

Princeton's 4x100-meter relay finished third in 0:52.26.

In the field events, Jamila Latham placed second overall in the discus throw with a final toss of 101-10. Anttananda Rodgers rounded the top five in the discus throw with a 98-03 final toss.

Marketta Beckum took third in the Girls' Long Jump with a final score of 15-09.

The Lady Vikings will prepare for the O.H.S.A.A. Southwest District Tournament held at Mason High School beginning Wednesday, May 21.
