Princeton plays for State Title

The Princeton Lady Vikings' goal before the start of the regular season was to get to Columbus. Goal completed. However, there is more to accomplish - State Championship.
Princeton took on Toledo Notre Dame in the State Semi-Finals on Friday, March 14 at Value City Arena in Columbus, Ohio.
Both teams shot over 48 percent from the floor in the first half, but the Vikings were able to erase a 5 point deficit late in the second quarter to head into the locker room tied, 33-33.
Princeton put together a strong third quarter, outscoring the opposition 12-5. The Lady Vikings limited Toledo Notre Dame from 2-of-8 from the floor, and 0 offensive rebounds. Princeton finished the game by outrebounding Notre Dame 36-25.
The teams would trade baskets in the fourth quarter, but Princeton showed their poise down the stretch to advance to the State Championships for the first time since 1987.
Senior Carlie Pogue knotched another double double, finishing with 18 points and 11 rebounds.
Kelsey Mitchell led all scorers with 23 points off 7-of-13 shooting from the floor.
Corneisha Henderson added 7 points and Chelsea Mitchell chipped in with 6 points respectively.
The Lady Vikings finished the game shooting 21-50 (42%) from the floor, and connected on 6 three-pointers.
Princeton plays Canton Hoover Saturday night, 8:30pm for the Division I State Championship.
