Lady Vikes are dancing to the Final Four

The Princeton Lady Vikings defeated the Lakota West Firebirds 88-75 in the Regional Championship on Saturday, March 8 at Wright States' Nutter Center to advance to the State Final Four beginning Friday, March 14 in Columbus, Ohio.
The win marks the programs first Regional Championship and Final Four appearance since 1987, which was the same season Princeton claimed the State Championship.
Both teams entered play winners of 13 consecutive games, with the Lady Vikings holding a 2-0 advantage in the regular season.
Princeton has shot the ball very well during their post-season run, shooting 47 percent from the floor (130-278), and 36 percent from behind the arc (33-91). The hot shooting continued in the Regional Championship game.
The Lady Vikings shot 51 percent (30-59), and connected 9 three pointers against the Firebirds.
Senior Jada Ballew and Chelsea Mitchell each connected on 4 three pointers to finish with 14 points and 19 points respectively.
Senior Kelsey Mitchell scored 31 points after her 50-point performance in the Regional Semi-Finals. Mitchell has scored 121 points in the last three games.
Princeton held a 44-36 advantage at the half, and extended their lead to 15 points in the second half, but Lakota West would storm back on the back of Lauren Cannatelli and Nia Staples. The two players combined for 11 three pointers, including 8 from Cannatelli.
West cut the lead 74-71, but Princeton quickly turned a 3 point game to 9 point lead with under two minutes left in the game.
Princeton would convert down the stretch at the charity line, finishing the game 19-29 from the line.
Princeton (26-2) will take on Toledo Notre Dame Academy (24-3) on Friday, March 14 at 6:00pm at Value City Arena on the campus of The Ohio State University.
