Lady Vikes host Block Party in Win

The Princeton girls' basketball team scored the first ten points against Colerain on Monday, February 3 and never looked back. The Lady Vikings defeated the Cardinals 67-48 to improve their record to 18-2 overall, and 12-0 inside league play.
The Lady Vikes led 20-6 at the end of the first quarter, and extended their lead 43-19 at the break. Princeton showcased excellent ball movement and connected on 42 percent of their field goals.
The defensive pressure was excellent, forcing the opposition to shoot 29 percent from the floor. As a team, Princeton set a single game record with 12 blocked shots.
A trio of Lady Vikings reached double figures in scoring. Kelsey Mitchell finished with 19 points and 7 steals, Corneisha Henderson scored 14 points and 5 assists, and Carlie Pogue knotched another double-double, finishing with 13 points and 12 rebounds.
Chelsea Mitchell knocked down 3 three-pointers and 3 blocked shots.
Late in the game, senior Demeka Hayden drained a long range three pointer to close the door on the Cardinals.
Princeton returns Wednesday at home against Middletown for senior night. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30pm.
