Vikings Knock-off Firebirds in Thriller

The Princeton boys' basketball team snapped its' 10-game losing streak with a thrilling 81-78 overtime win against the Lakota West on Friday, January 24 at Princeton High School. The Vikings overcame a 12 point deficit to pick up their first victory of the season.
The three overtime performance featured 7 lead changes and 9 ties, as both teams showcased excellent effort and skill down the stretch.
Leading by three in the final seconds of play in OT, Firebirds' Malik Grove drained a long range three pointer to extend the game. Both teams traded buckets down the stretch as the head coaches made sure the team executed the plays to perfection. A single error down the stretch could result in a loss.
West led by 3 points in the final seconds until Ryan Bricking hit a highly contested three-pointer to force the final overtime period.
Princeton and the home crowd turned up the heat in the final period, having great success with getting the ball in the paint and capitalizing on free-throw opportunities. In the game, Princeton shot 25 of 34 from the charity stripe.
Joshua Jasper was lights out shooting the basketball off the bench for the Vikings. He drained 5 three-pointers to finish with 25 points.
Ryan Bricking had an incredible game, leading all scorers with 30 points and 17 rebounds. Bricking's individual performance is up for the Blitz 5 Beacon Orthopedics Primetime Performer.
Also reaching double figures in scoring was Jordan Bradley with 12 points and Sean Cook with 10.
Princeton travels to Oak Hills on Tuesday, January 28.
