Excellent shooting aids another win

The Princeton girls basketball team limited the Ursuline Lions to under 20 percent shooting from the floor, en route to a 73-50 win on Thursday, January 16 at Princeton High School. The Lady Vikings improve to 12-1 overall on the season.
Princeton was in command from the very beginning, outscoring the Lions 20-9 at the end of the first quarter of play. The points continue to add up in the second quarter, as the opposition had no answer to stop the talented Lady Vikes.
Princeton took a 43-16 lead at the half.
Ursuline saw some success early in the third quarter, but Princeton would not lose control of the game. The Lady Vikes shot 39 percent from the floor, and 39 percent from behind the arc.
Kelsey Mitchell led all scorers with 29 points on 11-of-18 shooting, and knocked down 4 three pointers. Mitchell also added 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 3 steals to her stat sheet.
Princeton got a tremendous performance from Corneisha Henderson, finishing with 23 points on 6-of-12 shooting. Henderson knocked down all 8 of her free throws, and drilled 3 three pointers.
Jasmyn Hardin dominated the interior for Princeton, grabbing down a career-high 16 rebounds. She also added 4 points and 3 blocked shots.
Princeton travels to Berlin, Ohio to compete in the Classic in the Country on Saturday, January 18 at 1:30pm.
