Lady Vikings sink Cardinals

The Princeton girls' basketball team defeated Colerain 48-37 on Wednesday, January 8 at Colerain High School to improve to 9-1 on the season, and 6-0 in conference play.

Senior Kelsey Mitchell led all scorers with 22 points on 9-of-23 shooting from the floor. Chelsea Mitchell added 5 points and 4 rebounds.

Carlie Pogue snapped her five game streak of consecutive double-doubles, finishing with just 2 points and 8 rebounds.

Princeton's bench was led by Markayla Sherman with 6 points.

The Lady Vikings finished the night shooting 21-of-55 from the floor, and a dismal 5-of-20 from behind the arc. In an unacharacteristic game, Princeton only shot two free throws.

The defense continued to create havic on the opposition. The Cardinals shot 16-of-55 from the floor and forced 20 turnovers.

Princeton returns to action on Saturday, January 11 at home against the Oak Hills Highlanders. The Lady Vikings won the previous match-up 74-40 on December 4. Tip-off is set for 2:00pm.
