The Princeton boys' basketball team fell on the road to the Middletown Middies 51-41 on Friday, December 20.
Trailing 9-0 early on in the first quarter, senior Ryan Bricking scored 7 unanswered points to get Princeton back into the game. However, the Vikings faced a difficult challenge maintaining the conference's leading scorer, Vincent Edwards (21.0 ppg) and the size of the Middies.
Princeton did a very good job with ball pressure and forcing 16 Middletown turnovers, but the Middies were able to control the boards. The home team outrebounded Princeton 37-22 in the contest.
Bricking answered the challenge offensively, scoring a career high 25 points. Bricking continued to utilize the open space given around the perimeter, connected on 6 three pointers in the game.
Also reaching double figures was Jordan Bradley with 10 points.
Princeton shot 14 of 48 from the field (29.2%) compared to 36 percent from Middletown.
The Middies were led offensively by Edwards with 25 points.
The Vikings will take on Trotwood-Madison on Saturday, December 28 at Fairmont High School in Kettering, Ohio. The two teams will tip-off at 7:30pm.
